Limiting Beliefs

"Were so lucky that flower don't hold themselves back because other flowers are already blooming. "
— Emily McDowell (writer and illustrator)

You breathe in. You breathe out. I breathe in. I breathe out. We both need oxygen

to survive. Would you worry that there would not be enough oxygen for both of us? Of course not—air is abundant!

So why tell yourself there's no space for you in whatever dreams you have? Of course there's space for you, in fact I would argue you have a moral obligation to put yourself out there, as you are so uniquely you, and if you hold yourself back from sharing your talents and passions, you are robbing the world getting what you have to offer!

Yes, we all come from different places, with different resources and external things that seemingly hold us back, but why let yourself be one of the things holding you down? You need to be your greatest ally, and push yourself forward. Why be mean and down on yourself?

One thing I strive to do is to spend time with people who lift me up, not the "nay-sayers" that hold us back because they're uncomfortable with us leaving their comfort zone. Look for people who are just a few steps ahead of you on your journey. They'll give you something to reach for, without being so far ahead that it seems unreachable.

My most common limiting belief has stemmed from feeling like I don't know what I'm doing, or I don't know enough. But I keep reminding myself that no one knows everything, and that's okay. We're all learning and growing. You'll learn, grow and change along the way, as will your business.

So stop holding yourself back. stop limiting your dreams. Stop limiting what you think is possible. Get yourself out there, start making "impossible" goals to strive for.

you may hit a star!"
